Fishing was mostly strong over late May as more stable weather outweighed the more volatile. Still, wind and storms have been present at times but are giving way to a more spring and summer-like climate.
As the stable weather has unfolded, fishing has taken on far more of a May-like tone again and large limits of fish were taken.
Coho in the 3-7lb range are making up the majority of our hauls but we continue to catch quite a few large King Salmon in the 13-18lb range as well. Some Rainbow and Lake Trout are being caught also and we could find ourselves fishing in Brown Trout territory, when fishing for Coho, soon as well. We have some huge Brown Trout in the waters just south of us and if the conditions present themselves, we could be fishing this region soon.
I suspect the May-like tone of the recent fishing could continue well into June if the cold water that is present here, remains. This will depend on a variety of factors but I do think the Spring Coho Run could last longer than it normally does, making for good-to-superb fishing in the near-term.
