The Memorial Weekend produced some great fishing, as previously reported, but the rest of the week was a big tougher. Wind and storms were the themes of the week and it made it some of the toughest spring fishig conditions in recent memory. Those that braved the wind/rain managed to get some fish, but worked very hard for them.

Average depths seemed to increase from the reports we receivec, with fish being as deep as 25 feet regularly this past week. Hammered gold spinners with a minnnow/leech were the best presentations from a few groups, while others jigged up some fish when they werent getting blown off spots before they could get them down to the bottom. The nicest fish reported this weeek was a 28.25" fish that was CPR'd on Friday.

Northerns were active in shallow water near old weed growth again this week. Small spinner baits seemed to be the ticket. Muskies were prone to chasing smaller lures and a few were caught, including a 49 incher.

Smallies got pushed off the shallow parts of shorelines and were harder to target in the deeper water.

A few days of reasonable wind patterns should get the fish cranked back up. Another new crew of guests will be eager to hit it hard so we'll be getting more and more feedback as the days go on.
