Well Team Treblemaker got out and fished the opening weekend Muskie Tournament hosted by the Lake St.Clair Chapter of Muskies Inc. #58 this past weekend and fishing could not have been better. We boated 35 muskies on Saturday alone and another 10 on Sunday. There were many other great reports around the lake as well.
We caught fish ranging in the 30-40 inch mark which made for some great fishing. Many double headers kept the excitement going. Our biggest for the weekend was only 42 inches but we had a blast. As the water warms up and the females come back to life from spawning the big fish will soon be snapping. Most of our luck came on crankbaits from Loke Lures, and Ziggie muskie baits. We did have a couple fish on Spankie and Lake St. Clair baits shops bucktails.
If you are planning on getting out muskie fishing soon, please give us a shout!
Attached is a picture from opening day last year of Capt Mark and First Mate Chrissy Marchel with a nice double header. Stay tuned to our website as many pics will be up soon.
