I had three half day/4 hour trips yesterday. We started out thinking it was going to be very slow with the cold temps that came in overnight but we were way wrong. We caught a thirty incher and lost a nice one and had quite a few others follow up or slice at baits and not quite commit.
The midday trip was a little slower but we managed a mid thirty inch fish on topwater and then switched to smallmouth bass fishing. We should have stuck with the muskie because the bass fishing was a little slow.
The evening trip was the toughest time of the day. We hit a lot of good water but ended up with one small muskie to show for it. That was his first muskie so at least he got that out of the way to move on to bigger and more muskies.
Heading out right now to try the evening bite after a quick fish fry.
Good luck everyone,
