The Bait Shop Guy

Jack Sheldon gave me a big hand helping do some work on my outboard Friday afternoon. We ran down to the Escanaba to make sure everything was up and running. All checked out, so we decided to do some fishing. Ran upriver and did well on the smallmouth. I think we landed a dozen between the two of us, with a couple 18's, and three that were 19 1/2 inches. Jack got the big one of the trip, a fish just over 20 inches. Caught a couple on cranks and topwater baits, but the rest were all caught on Senko's.
Ran back to the river mouth later in the evening to troll for some walleyes. We landed 8 or 10 walleyes and another smallmouth trolling small crankbaits. Jack was using a #7 firetiger Rapala and I got most of my fish on a #6 clown Husky Jerk.
Water temp in the river was 67 degrees.
