slightly delayed...
Finally a weekend with terrific near summer like weather and reasonable winds with no rain! I'm almost caught up on the mowing :-)
Kakagi (Crow) Lake is approaching 60 degree water temps in many places, while LOTW Stevens Bay is running roughly 10 degrees warmer.
Lake levels are pretty normal, some beaver chewed wood drifting about, not as bad as it can be as we head toward the Muskie opener weekend!
Bass fisherman are seeing lots of Muskies on Kakagi. Walleye and Northern Pike groups seeing the Muskies on LOTW. Hoping for a good opener on Saturday!
Bass just starting to bed on Kakagi - a few 3, 4 & 5 pound Smallies found.
Lake Trout still a bit scattered and bait fish not in the big clouds. Seeing most Lake Trout in the 40' to 75' with some reports of shallower and deeper Lake Trout. Guests did catch a couple Lake Trout while trolling Northern Pike in Whitefish Bay.
Walleye - decent walleye bite out around Miles Bay and this weekend was productive for bigger Walleye in the shallower Stevens Bay waters.
Northern Pike are being caught a few here and there best fish I heard about were 35" from Stevens Bay and 36" from Kakagi.
Perch arrived at the docks this weekend, so things should be looking good for the dock fishing "kids" in the weeks and months ahead :-)
We have a couple cabins available for Muskie opener. First weekend in July is full, but some days the week before and after the 4th. Last half of July & 1st week of August is mostly down to 1 bedroom cabins being available. 2nd week in August and remainder of our season still has plenty of opening.
Regards,
