Summer season seems to be setting in. Kakagi (Crow) Lake is frequently touching on the upper 60 degree temperatures, so seeing more activity around the beach area. Jenny and Amy are likely to be going for a swim almost daily for the next couple months.
Mayfly hatch has started on Kakagi.
Lake Trout - bite has slowed quite a bit, but a few 10-12 pound Lake Trout caught. A few caught on buzzbombs but most were on the R2S divers. Lake Trout really scattered and not bunched in the deep holes.... should be deep soon.
Muskies - a few in the lower 40's caught and as usual the really big ones got away. Some still in bays, but shoreline rock structures seem to be holding the most. Showgirls were best lure.
Bass - slowed up all over, even Jessie Lake was only good for about 70 bass in a day on surface lures, with a couple over 3 pounds.
Northern Pike - Whitefish Bay was pretty fair for numbers and a couple 30"+ Pike for added thrill. Spoons and Mepps were best for bring te Pike out of the weeds.
Regards,
