Fished the Angle area July 3rd-8th. Water temps started in the upper 60's and finished in the mid 70's on the afternoon of 7/8. Considering how stable the weather was were somewhat disappointed in the number of fish seen. We found most of the active fish on straight rock. Tried some weeds and rock/weed combos with very limited activity.
Landed a very fat and personal best 47.5 other fish in our boat were 46, 42.5, 37, 37 and a number of other shorties. We moved fish mainly on small crankbaits and gliders. We struggled to get fish going on bucktails but I'm sure they are only a couple days away from going nuts. Moved one supertanker 3 times but could not get her to go as usual.
The morning bite was not existent as Mr Pearson commented on another thread. Most activity came in quick flurries in the afternoon or evening.
