With the exception of Sundays bad weather and slow fishing to go with it, the action has been very good the last several days. The walleye bite for the most part has been very good as have the smallie action. Using 1/16th ounce Reeves weedless jigs tipped with 1/2 crawler have been the best bet in hooking up with the eyes in the shallow weeds/wood on the warm and sunny days. The mid lake humps have also been productive not only for the eyes, but also for the smallies. It seems the humps are more productive in the early am hours and on cloudy windy days. Just when I thought all fish were done spawning, I'm finding large amouts of big bluegills on their beds and full of spawn. Easy pickings once again. Not to downplay the jumbo perch, but they have been on a good bite also as they are relating to not only shallow weeds but to large submerged stumps.
Heading back out the next few days for some more of the tasty gills and perch, will take a nice eye or two if they should take the bait.
