Thanks to Julie for booking her husband Dane's annual birthday Charter along with friends Dave and Josh. We left the dock at 7:00 AM and went looking for a Walleye hot spot. We headed to the area North of West Sister in 29 ft of water to scout out a nice school of walleye. Our Lowrance HDS 7 picked up a school of fish from the bottom to 22 ft. We set up to troll and with some quick instruction to the crew we were off and running. We set our lines at 70 ft starboard and 60 ft port running Michigan Stingers and worm harnesses tipped with a night crawler. It didn't take long and we had one on the 60 ft side. We did make an adjustment to our starboard side and reset it at 65 ft back. It made a huge difference. Julie grabbed the rod, tripped the rubber band waited until the line was straight back and reeled in a nice 21 in. Walleye. The wind was light and variable and made for a cooler day and ideal trolling conditions. We continued to catch some nice Walleye and Dane, Julie, Josh and Dave took turns bringing in some nice Walleye. We did catch some sheephead, whitebass, perch and small walleye throw backs under 15 in. We narrowed our circle down to about a 1/2 mile. with no boats around us and filled the cooler with good healthy walleye. The bite stayed good right up until we limited out and with temperatures rising about noon we headed back to the dock. Their 24 fish weighted in a 55 lbs.that's 2.2 lb average. Thanks again to Julie for booking this annual Charter and Happy Birthday to Dane on his special day! See pictures below. Capt. Mike and Capt. Ron
