I met Ric along with his brother in-law Zach from the LaSalle/Peru area in Illinois at Northern Bay Resort for a morning of fishing. They have visited the lake on a few occations but; have never fished it, except from shore. The bite has been a little slow so decided to pull live bait rigs slowly around submerged humps in the river channel. We pull two flies tied in series tipped with minnows for the frist four hours and boated 1 "shortie", 2 keepers, 2 crappies, 5 white bass, and 1 sheep head. Trolled the last hour and added 1 white bass, and 1 cat. These were the first walleyes, crappies, and white bass either guy has ever caught. Slow rigging seems to be the way to go right now.
