Manistique Salmon 8-15-11

Fished all day Monday off Barques Point. Managed 5 salmon and one steel head. Lost three other fish and several releases. Biggest salmon 20# on meat rig behind dipsey about 250' back in 160 FOW. All other fish picked up on various spoons. Even the steelhead was caught on mix vegtable 80 feet down in 130 FOW. We came across several massive bait balls.

Thanks for the report. I was there last Fri, 8-12. Just fished after work in 3&4 footers, managed 2 shakers, 1 steel about 7# and a king about 12#. Fished 110-90 fow. Everything down was cold, right after that NW blow and fish were scattered at various depths. Took hits on dipsys, core and riggers. Doesn't seem hot and heavy but some fish are being caught there still.
