Walleyes were DEEP. Relative to the deepest part of the basins...fish were 20 FOW around locally, which is deeper than a "normal" pattern. Further west, fish were being caught in 30-40 FOW on a regular basis throughout the week. The storms/wind seemed to be the cause of the walleyes sliding off to the bottom edges of the reefs. Minnows were the best bait of the week.

Muskies were mostly centered around rock structure. Crankbaits were a good trigger as the ticked and skipped in and over the rocks on their way back to the boat. Seemed as if they were either eating before they got to the boat or not at all.

Weather has still been warmish, but several storm cells and high winds have made things a bit unstable and difficult to determine a reliable pattern. Use your judgement and fish reliable spots when this kind of thing is happening on the lake. Your confidence will he higher and you will know you're fishing good areas. Don't hesitate to try trolling a few crank baits around points, shorelines and reefs if you aren't having the success you would like casting.
