The Bait Shop Guy

Fished with good friends Gary and Frank, south of the Ford River, Monday evening. With the flat calm conditions, you couldn't have asked for a more perfect evening to be on the water this time of year. We pulled Reef Runners and Deep Husky jerks in 15 to 20 FOW. Purple colored baits in general worked, but the classic purple prizm Reef Runner was the standout bait this trip. We landed 12 fish, with biggest being a 27 incher, (released,) with most of the rest in the 20 to 25 inch range.
With the good bass, pike, and salmon fishing, along with the small game, waterfowl, and bow season, its a great time of year to be a yooper! Get outside and enjoy it!
