Tom from Reedsburg and his son Matt from Baraboo joined me for a trip on "The Rock" today. Tom said they wanted to learn some different tactics besides bobber fishing. We concentrated most of the morning on vertical jigging and how to work the channel edges with the bow mount trolling motor. We started by Splash and had some good action, boating 1 19" walleye along with some "shorties". Stopped out on the lake on a nice point on the old river channel and had some good action, including 2 "keepers", 1 northern, and a number of "shorties". Tom wanted to see how to use planer boards so we trolled for the last part of the day with mixed results. All-in-all we finished the day with 3 "keepers", 15 "shorties", 5 white bass, 2 northern, and 1 small mouth. Not bad for the high barometer we have had for the past few days.
Will be on "The Rock" again tomorrow, so hopefully we have a good day even though that barometer isn't going to move much.

Keep a tight line!!!
