Marcel from Lodi, Wi. called early in the morning wondering if I had the day open for a trip on "The Rock". I was open , so we met at the at 8am. It was a bit slow at first. We pulled flies by the Boy Scout Camp, and the south tower with only 1 northern and a few short hits to show for it. We then went over by the Buckhorn bridge with about the same results. Headed for the lake to fish the old channel edges about 11am and finally found some active fish. They were not very aggressive so you really had to coax them into taking the jig. We finished at 1pm with 4 "keepers", 13 "shorties", 1 crappie, 3 nice perch, and 1 northern. This coming weekend, and the first part of next week looks like the temperatures will be above normal. Might be the last chance for a fresh meal of fish.
