A few weeks ago I was out with two clients from North Dakota that were new to muskie fishing. The older gentleman caught a 40in fish right away. Later on in the day his son sets the hook into a nice size fish that was hard to reel in even though it was under the boat. I netted the fish for him and took notice of the fresh marks on it. It looked like it was caught in a bear trap.
I am guessing when he was reeling the fish in and it got t-boned by another muskie. The muskie that was caught measured 45 inches. We never saw the muskie that grabbed the one we caught and we didnt measure the bite marks. It was a pretty cool experience. The pics speak for themselves.
