I hit the ice today with my friend Corey Derksen and we had a decent day, landing several nice walleyes and three nice northerns. We caught a bunch of small perch as well. The sad thing is that Corey hooked a twenty-eight inch plus walleye that he lost right at the hole! We used Vicious Pro Elite Flourocarbon and Vicious Ice line on our jig rods and the product worked great. I was using Frabill's 26" Ice Hunter medium action combo for my set up. Best lures were jigging spoons like Buckshot Rattle Spoons or similar jigs tipped with waxies or minnows. Ice conditions were decent, as we had seven inches of good clear ice out there. All in all, not a bad trip for the first outing of the year.
