A friend and I spent about four hours chasing perch on the north end heading out of the Vagabond into 20 feet of water. We landed 30 and kept 12. The best presentation was a size 3 Swedish Pimple in the new Magenta or Violet color with a two inch leader on it and a #8 octopus short shank hook tipped with three spikes and a wiggler. The slightly heavier Swedish Pimple acts as an attractor and helps get your bait back to bottom faster. By using spikes, this rig still has bait on it if the perch get the wiggler. We also caught some larger perch on two inch minnows under slip float rigs. We watched a lot of fish on the camera, including several walleyes, but were were set up for perch. Perhaps the walleyes would have taken four-inch minnows.
