We were too busy at the shop for me to get fishing Friday and Saturday. Drove me nuts knowing how good the bite was, earlier in the week. Finally got out again Sunday evening, and it was still good! Trip started out on a sour note - got everything set up before I realized I left my graph at the shop! I don't know about you, but I won't fish without it! Ran back to get it, and I was fishing a little before 6pm.
Between 6:15 and 6:30 it was nuts! Iced 4 of my 5 fish, and lost a couple more in that 15 minute period! Started with a #9 Glow Hot Perch Jigging Rap, and saw no need to switch it up until after the big rush was over. Iced #5 about 6:45 on a #3 glow Perch Shiver Minnow.
Only lost two fish, and missed 2 or 3 this trip. Had one 16 incher that I threw back. the rest were perfect 19 to 21 inchers. A couple of them made great poor mans lobster for dinner. The rest will be fried up at a later date.

Thanks Chris for your posts and also for your generosity when it comes to bait. I do have one question. Have you been fishing off the yacht harbor or off the terris.? Thanks.

Nice catch Chris! Now, where's the picture of that HUGE perch that was supposedly caught in LBDN? From the picture it looks like your shop. Anyways, congrats to the young fella who is holding it in the picture.

Thanks. Glad to help, guys. For what it's worth, the bite SUCKED Monday night. Marked a fair number of fish, but they were much less active than the previous 4 trips I've had. Only managed to ice one 14 1/2 incher on a #3 Glow Perch Shiver Minnow. They must have been feeding somewhat, because that fish barfed up a goby on the floor of my shack and it was still alive!
Hopefully with the weather moving in, they'll light up tonight.

Hey Chris, thought I'd let ya know the bite sucked this morning. The fish I marked seemed a little more aggressive than last night , but would not commit again. Checked with a few others and same story. One fish caught by the snowmobile guys.
Maybe this front coming in with turn em on tonight!!! Slammer!!!

Yeah, it certainly wasn't the "whackfest" I hoped it would be. The fish I marked were fairly active, but I only marked 7 or 8 fish. Probably the least amount I've seen all season. Ended up landing one 16 incher and missing one other bite.
The access at the yacht club is getting pretty bad. I know I won't be taking my truck out from there anymore. As you drive out onto the ice, there's a big boulder on your left hand side. A guy I know was able to take his Jeep around the left side of that boulder, but it would have been too tight for my Ford. Still no problem for quads and sleds - they just go off the East side of that peninsula. Really, you could probably drive a truck off of that side, too. Just have to eyeball it after the snow gets knocked down a little.
