Lure "Short List"?

we've got a new person coming up to Baystore with us in August this year, and he was wondering about the "short list" of must-have lures for that time of year. i've got my own ideas, but they don't seem to work very well so i figured i better find some better advice for him!

Aug 11-18...which are the first lures (and colors) that you reach for???

Not that my list will be much better, but I'd say there are 5 baits I wouldn't leave the doc without (and that's probably 3 to many).

Double 10 Bucktail
Top Raider
Suick
Crank bait (Squ.Jake/Krave)
Big Rubber (Bull Dog/Medussa/Tube)


Now there are variations of course, and color, well that's a whole other post.

And Mike, if none of that works, you know where the key is, pick something out.

Hard to argue with Jimmy's list and I'm not sure what 'short' means but in August-a typical mid to late August-I'd add a Hell Hound,a crackpot of some sort(Weagle?),a 'burner' bucktail and two types of Spinner baits.(single for weeds and/or slow rolling,tandem for rocks).

Good selections, might want to toss in a 10" believer in your favorite color.
