I arrived to the resort late on Thursday.
Ice is out and water temperature is in the upper 30's.
Ice out Lake Trout are very tasty - found one small Lake Trout nice enough to join me for dinner last night! Lost a big Lake Trout at the boat -- I had to leave something for Randy :-) It was raining last night, so no pictures. Jigging - All of the active Lake Trout were in 78' water adjacent to 50' or shallower - near large balls of deep baitfish. Expecting they will be moving up more as the lake warms. Looked like a few trolling boats out were picking up Lake Trout also.
Cabins are looking to be in good shape - no damages found yet. Expecting I will have a few ready to go by middle of the coming week.
Dock cribs - they took a beating this winter with most of cribs slightly twisted. The main dock took the worst of the damages - pulling a 1 1/4" steel pipe (hinge for the ramp) out of 4" angle iron holders with the pipe broken in 2 places. I would have thought the dock itself would come apart first and been a little easier to fix - ice is very very powerful and it will do what it wants.
Looking forward to seeing everyone soon!
Regards,
