The reason they have a closed season vs. a catch and release on any fish is to prevent more stress on them during their spawning times. It was very irritating to watch a couple guys fishing in the river definitely going after walleye. As the DNR said, they could always say they were trying for steelhead. I am just hoping I can find the filming they did if they put it on You-tube or another site and be able to comment on how they got them out of season. YES, two mounted cameras and talking like they were making a fishing show. Too bad they didn't have their white and black Mirrocraft Troller registered or I would have taken down their number. Maybe the DNR will be able to get out here the next time they are filming.
