The past few days has seen very good walleye action with the exception of yesterday. The walleye bite up untill yesterday was mostly in 8 to 10 feet of water over submerged wood and they were for the most part schooled up to the point where it was limits in as little as 20 to 30 minutes. Yesterday produced only 1 decent eye and a jumbo perch for our efforts in those depths. After working various shorelines and bays with no luck we switched to real shallow water 2 to 4 feet in and around log jams and then we found some active eyes. With fairly strong wsw winds blowing into these areas, we managed to pull 6 more nice eyes out of these areas with 1/16th ounce Reeves jigs tipped with fathead minnows. Although the walleye fishing was on the tough side, the smallmouth and pike made up for lack of action, we caught numerous smallies and pike all day long.

Back out later today for some evening fishing, see what that brings, will keep you posted.
