Was out yesterday with a good friend searching for walleye and we found it a little difficult at first with bright sky's and little or no wind. We managed 1 real nice eye out of 6 ft. of water next to downed tree and that was about it with the exception of a few smallies and a pike. After some searching, we found the eyes on a very good bite in 10 to 15 ft. of water over a mud bottom, I might add that these eyes averaged 17 to 20 inches and were all full of mayfly's. We also done some crib fishing for some panfish and came up with 9 nice gills and perch. Most all the eyes came on 1/8th ounce yellow Reeves weedless jigs tipped with a 2 inch piece of crawler while the panfish were taken on orange 1/16th ounce.
Noticed several large mayfly carcassess floating out there so it has started, will be out today and will keep you informed on the hatch.
