Things are well and getting ready for the next busy part of our schedule.

Recent blue skies, warm weather and light winds has been warming up the surface temperatures. LOTW hitting 70's and Kakagi (Crow) Lake jumping into the 60's.

Lake Trout - weather is driving them to sitting near bottom and up near surface in lower light periods. Early Memorial week - some of the best Lake Trout fishing was trolling cowbells in our bay - 6 caught between 5 & 9 pounds. Memorial weekend was also succesful for fishing Lake Trout from shore. Trolling Rapala's this past weekend was good produced a 5 fish evening with nice fish in the 30-40 foot waters. Jigging Lake Trout productive in 80' and 100' depths in the same evening. - The Lake Trout are scattered right now and moving around again... very few deep baitfish balls, which should be coming in the next couple weeks.

Bass - Seem to be coming on stong on LOTW this week. Kakagi Bass are starting to spawn - would expect more spawning fish in next few days.

Northern Pike - Stevens Bay and Whitefish Bay both really productive with lots of slot size fish being released and a few around 40" being caught almost everyday. Numbers of Pike in a day has slowed quite a bit in the current weather.

Walleye - Lake of the Woods seems productive still, but not many boat hours fishing Walleye. Some 30" Walleye caught in late May.

Muskie - opener June 16th. Seeing some Muskies looking for snacks around the docks, one looks a bit scarred like it likely was been spawning. During Bass fishing last couple evenings, I saw 2 Muskies - one little fish up tight to shore on some rocks and one near 4 foot fish cruising over some weeds - neither of those fish looked scarred.

A few of our spring projects are now pretty much completed... even some unexpected projects! So far it has been a crazy year with everything being delivered - most of it is us being shorted or delayed. Today was surprise! six refrigators, instead of the three we ordered... a few quick calls to Jean and she said we could keep them!

Here is the run down starting at North end and working South.

Cabin 6 - swapped in one of our smaller energy star rated fridges.
Cabin 10 - new fridge, new bath faucet, limbed the big pine hanging over cabin, reshingled and extending roof over the deck.
Campground - re-distributed the overhead wiring. new main breaker (supposed to be done last week, but should be here when bucket truck is freed up again).
Cabin 10/North - shared new barrel style charcoal grill/smoker.
Cabin North - new fridge, 2 new double mattresses (not sure what happened to the single mattresses), new toilet (don't ask :-) )
Showerhouse - replaced all the wiring, replaced 1/4 the water lines.
Cabin 12 - new barrel style charcoal grill/smoker.
Cabin 14 - new fridge (yes - we put new in last year, but this new one has 2 shelves), new bedroom lamps.
Cabin 14/15 - shared new barrel style charcoal grill/smoker.
Cabin 15 - new bedroom lamps.
Removed 3 tree's near power lines.
Guide cabin - new fridge - (smaller energy star rated to cabin 6)
Lodge - finished porch, finished upstairs carpet, finished outside ramp railing and cement work, pictures and mounts up, new chest freezer is here (likely August before we can swap), brought fridge from cabin 14 (one shelf works better for bulky items). Lodge TV's -- look to be another don't ask item, but the sure look pretty hanging on the wall.
Cabin 16 - new bedroon lamps new toilet (don't ask :-) ).
Cabin 16/17 - shared new barrel style charcoal grill/smoker.
Cabin 17 - new bedroom lamps and not sure what happened to the new stove we ordered (will try that again late in season).
Near Cabin 17 - wireless repeater working as feed to south end of the resort for hard reach places (not sure I like it), connection from bbaylodge5 wifi is much faster Internet even with 1 bar of signal.
Cabin 3 - replaced 2 single beds, new barrel style charcoal grill/smoker.
Cabin 21 - new fridge.
cabin 22 - shower stall remodel, new single bed and new queen bed.
Cabin 23 - new fridge.
Crestliner rental boats - new trolling motor batteries and just arrived - new life jackets.

Expecting our projects will slow down for a few months, until the busy part of the season passes.

Lodge is well stocked with everything except clothing items will be coming later in the season.

New in the Lodge is a variety of fish batters and a new variety of Muskie lures.

Regards,
