Hi everyone,
Under a hot blazing sun with very little wind, I guided Paul and his youngest son Sam in the morning and Pauls oldest son Ben and Bens friend Jack after lunch. The fishing turned out to be as hot as we wound up catching 9 walleyes, Sm Bass, rock bass,bluegills, and northerns. Most fish were caught in the A.M. but we had a first in the afternoon when Jack caught his first walleye ever. It was small and released, but was still a big thrill. We caught everything on jigs and leeches over and around woody humps.
Of interest was when young Sammy caught a 20" walleye and released it because he wanted to release a prime spawner. That's good sportsmanship.
The water is starting to go down and according to the Hayward paper the power company is going to lower the Big Chip 3 feet for the summer pool so be sure to consider how many more hazards there will be to look out for. Good luck fishing everyone.
