With 80 to 84 degree surface temps you would expect fishing to slow down a bit as fish should be moving into deeper water but the last week has proved that wrong. Clients and customers are reporting good catches of Gills, Crappie, and Perch. They are catching these Panfish in 5 to 15 feet of water. Walleye action is still strong as well. Customers report that they are catching them throwing shad rap style lures on the shoreline breaks. Our clients are still catching Walleye on Slip Bobbers or Floating Lindy Rigs tipped with leeches or Crawlers. We have also been trolling with our clients. Trolling a Shad Rap or Crawler Harness can be a great way to pick up some mid day Walleye and the size of the fish seem to be running bigger when we're trolling for them. Smallmouth Bass have really turned the feed bag on, A jig and a leech or a crayfish imitating tube jig are both killer for summer Smallies. Don't over look surface lures like Tiny Torpedo, or Chug Bugs for evening Smallies either. Musky action is still going good for our guide boats and the hot weather has kicked the top water bite into overdrive!!!!

Pictured is a 41.5 inch musky that fell victim to a Lake X Dr. Evil surface lure and a 44 incher that ate a Bulldawg over the weekend!!! Both fish were safely released.
