Hey everyone, the musky fishing on Vermilion the past two weeks has been great. We've boated 23 fish in the last week and a half and had a four 4 fish day on 7-12-12. On 7-12 we boated a 47", 44",42" and a 36" and lost two other fish. I'll have to say the 12th was the most exciting day on the lake i've had. We started fishing a 2:30pm and fished til 9:30pm, I missed a musky on my third cast and we saw fish every where we fished. We had 20-30 follows in that time we fished and like i said we boated four fish and lost two other fish. All our fish we caught and saw that day were on the rocks. My wife boated a nice 48" musky on 7-8-12. She was casting a pink marabou along a rock reef when her 48" musky ate at boatside. Most of the fish we've caught in the last two weeks have been off the rocks. We've been casting the rock points and breaks with bucktails and some topwater. I did get a nice 52" yesterday in a weedy bay. I was working a topwater along a cabbage line when the 52 followed it up to the boat then disappeared. I went back to the area 5 minutes later casting the same topwater but from a different angle when she just exploded on the topwater about 30 feet out from the boat. I also boated a 43" later in the afternoon in the weeds casting a bucktail. That's it for now i gotta head up to the lake, i gotta guide this afternoon. Thanks for checking us out.
