Hi everyone,
Spent about 3-4 hours out on the water yesterday. With the extreme wind and cold air temps, it was a challenge to fish how I wanted and where I wanted. The extreme winds were impossible to fish in so I got out of the direct wind as much as I could. Wanted to fish deep wood because the water temps went down to 53 degrees, but the wind just didn't allow boat control. I fished a few weed areas that were out of the wind where my anchor would hold. Wound up with a few small perch and a few other bites and that was it.
The water temps were 62 degrees two days ago and plummeted rapidly with cloudy weather and cold air temps and high winds. Whatever kind of a turn over the Big Chip experiences will be over soon and I expect the bite to improve daily in the deeper water.
The Muskies Inc. musky tournament is going on this weekend. The people who stay out in this weather will have earned their keep! Good luck to all the musky hunters and good luck to everyone who braves this weather.
