good news!! mother nature has finally woke up and the spring thaw has started in a big way past couple days and projected in the near future long term breaking into 50's-70's. snow and ice is rapidly melting with ice starting to pull away from shores a bit and some rain in the forecast to help move it along.ice still have a long ay to go but everyone should be able to get into camps soon and start getting them opened up.
for those who have been waiting to get schedules and plans together we still have some scattered opening available for you with couple late may and early june ,some great slots open in early to mid july and mid aug and sept.see post below for some availablity. some have filled or changes made so give us a call or e-mail for current status and we'll help you plan a great trip.it will be an exciting season coming up filled with great times and lots of fish.

update; 5/2 getting alot of calls from thos wondering.
was going good most snow going or close to gone and lake edges opening up,then as in the rest of the midwest it stalled 2-3 days of just above freezing but below freezing at nite, didn't get the snow n. minn and wi got thankgod. looking to go 50-70 long term here now coming up.
AML is looking for water running and camp opening cleaning/opening starting next week, ice out around may 15-18 a scramble getting docks in and boats rigged with opening date of 5/25.opener 5/18 will most likely be dicey VB and N except for smaller lakes and river systems
.
as far as fishing it will be diff than past few seasons but much like seasons years back when ice out was considerd normal may 3-13. this is later but daylight hrs will be very similar, water levels should go up,and walleyes in and near spawning areas.everyone is hoping not but opener might be pressed to make N of vb except for smaller lakes and river systems.
a positive will be the fishing/ walleyes will be in and near spawning areas, some big pike with them others will still be in backs of bays, timber, reed beds, point at mouths of same bays, trout will very shallow, you should catch a few bass fishing walleyes, but untill the water warms in the shallows and bass start moving in try fishing tradtional FALL humps and points.

What a great year to make my trip in July instead of August. I'm really hoping things normalize by mid July . Alot can happen in 2 and a half months.
Steve, did you get the cd's. Don't trust the mail much.

i wouldn't worry about it a bit,if you had a trip booked for opener ya,will be dicey or not happen, should make the last week of may though depending on how far north, how large the lake,or if a river system.
but mid july will be mid july,it's later than a normal spring and it seems so much worse because it is much later than the past several and it is really cause it's will go down as one of the latest in many many years but mother nature will catch up.compared to the extremly early spring last year followed by record setting temps, this years later spring, projected more normal summer temps personally i think july/aug will be awesome months and the best of the season for fishing this year and the months those who haven't gotten trips booked yet should consider.
thanks much for cds!!
love that govt mule for on the road
