Hi everyone,
Got out for a few hours this afternoon. I fished wooded flats at 9-11 feet deep with jigs and minnows. Caught a lot of fish and a lot of species. The weather turned out gorgeous with a sparsely cloudy sky and air temps in the 80's. The wind blew rough from the South West, but it was a warm wind that was a welcome relief from the heat. I'm not used to this warm weather yet.
I kept 2 walleyes at about 15" and released 4 more that were bigger around 17". I caught the two smaller ones first and kept releaseing so I could keep fishing. Caught 4 SM bass 1 LG bass, a perch and 2 knuckle head northerns. kept the 2 walleyes and perch for dinner. The water temps I saw were a steady 48 degrees. Hopefully the water will warm up quickly now. Good luck fishing everyone.
