Kakagi (Crow) Lake temps in upper 40 degree water temperatures and LOTW bouncing around in the 50 degree water temperatures.
Lake Trout - biting deep, shallow and in between - guests reporting seeing the Lake Trout follow-up after the lures just below the surface on occasion and some catching them as deep as 140' waters... that's about as "ALL over the water column" as they can get. Trolling boats catching as many as 7 a day, trolling cow bells reported 6 in a boat today, jigging methods catching 3-4 in a few hours. Most of the week we will have 6-8 boats after the Lake Trout, so it is a very good week for the Lake Trout to be cooperating. Biggest Lake Trout this week have been 6-7 pounds and 28" reported.
Crappie - biting shallow on Lake of the Woods this past week - lots of nice 1 pound+ Crappie being caught. I don't think we will have any boats after the Crappie until fall and after spawn they will move out and be less consistent to find.
Northern Pike - trolling and casting around Stevens Bay on Lake of the Woods has been pretty fast action at times -- a few 39" Pike reported and expecting we will have 5-6 boats after Northern Pike most of this week. Weeds starting to come up in Stevens Bay... guessing 2 more good weeks of fishing in Stevens Bay before the weeds start getting in the way.
Walleye - last week a few 27" Walleye were caught around Stevens Bay and in Yellow Girl (launching out of Sioux Narrows to fish Yellow Girl) - not expecting many groups trying for Walleye very often on Lake of the Woods until July.
Perch - still some Jumbo perch being found on Lake of the Woods and lots of little perch moved in by our docks that some very young Anglers are enjoying :)
The outlook for the Muskie opener June 15, is very good and should be very close to the conditions the Muskie groups have been praying to get :)
Regards,
