Hi everyone,

Guided Rocky and Gary from Osseo WI. for a half day yesterday. It was raining when I picked them up, but stopped after 5 minutes and even though it remained cloudy, we never saw any more rain. The wind started out fairly brisk but died down to almost nothing from the SE and the air temps warmed up to where we were peeling off the rain gear. The water temps went down to 68 degrees from 72 two days ago. We've had very inconsistent weather lately which can affect the bite along with the bug hatches going on. Luckily, working hard a guy can still produce some successfull fishing.

Fishing the woody humps and points in the 12-22 foot range we were able to haul in 2-4 fish from each spot we fished except one of my favorite spots was absolutely quiet. We used leeches and minnows on lead-free jigs and boated 7 walleyes keeping 5, a slug of crappies keeping 4, a dandy perch, and 4 nondescript rock bass. 1 walleye and the pech were on the leech, but everything else were on the minnows. The bite switches back and forth from minnows to leeches on a daily basis so have both along.

Remember to protect our waters and use lead-free jigs and spinners. Good luck fishing everyone.
