Hi everyone,

Guided Kai from Ohio for a full day yesterday. Kai fishes lake Erie a lot and catches plenty of walleyes so he wanted to try different species. So off we went under clear blue skies with almost no wind. Morning started out chilly but warmed up fast to the high 80's by mid morning. Hot to say the least. We casted spinners for most of the day then in the afternoon spent about 3 hours fishing walleyes.

We fished weeds for most the day and caught a mixed bag of Lgm bass, Sm bass, and perch. Kai has never caught a northern so that was the main quarry. We never got one in the boat but had a line sliced by one. we saw 3 muskys in the progress, one was about 4 feet long. They never hit but it is a thrill to see one that big.

To finish out the day we fished walleyes in the deep wood with lead-free jigs and leeches and minnows. It's now back to a leech bite. Nothing took the minnows. We caught 5 walleyes up to 19", crappie, and some bull bluegills. 5 were around 10+". We released everything as Kai expressed an interest not to keep any fish. Today I'll take Kai back out in pursuit of his very 1st northern. Should be a hoot. Remember to protect our waters by using lead-free jigs and spinners. Good luck fishing everyone.
