So far this trip I haven't laid eyes on a musky, but one of my neighbors here caught a 48-incher while using a 1/32-ounce jig fishing for bluegills. The musky took the bluegill and the jig fell free in the net, which was broken by the encounter and had to be replaced. He's actually caught quite a few muskies while bluegill fishing, but this is the biggest.
My uncle is a crappie fisherman and every year when they come up to the flowage for a couple weeks they have atleast one crappie nabbed at boatside by a musky. Last year they had it happen four different times during a week period. They also witnessed another boat up in Crane Lake (crappie fisherman) land a 48" as it hit a crappie boatside. Also, I believe it was last year a pontoon fishing for crappie over in Sherman's Bay landed a 52" as it attacked a crappie boatside. They didn't have a net so they used a guys shirt in the pontoon as a cradle. crazy stuff.
