Hi everyone,

Guided Bill and his Son Gregg for a half day again yesterday. We started our trek under completely different conditions from the day before. Flat calm seas with a Bluebird sky. Air temps were mid 70's to start with and shot up to the high 80's by noon. the surface water temps started at 73 and were 78 by the time we fininshed.

The fish reacted more sluggish too. We had to fish very hard but were able to scrounge up a good number of walleye, crappie, smallmouth, some bluegills and the pesky rock bass. We fished the deeper wood with lead-free jigs and leeches and minnows. The bug hatch continues in full swing. We saw a gazzillion bug casings in two different places of two different kinds of bugs. In one place the casings were so thick the line sliced through them. The fish are eating well on the bugs and all the fish we caught were plump.

I'm catching most of my fish of all species in the thickest wood you can find. The wood does eat jigs so please practice good conservation and use lead-free jigs. Good luck fishing everyone.
