Since we have not had any measureable rain for almost 4 days, the river temps are finally getting over 70 degrees south of Warren and 65 coming out of the Kinzua gates.

Water temps around me are hit or miss and I think this hot weather is gonna push things up over the 80 mark this week. Along those lines, I broke down and bought a Fish Hawk TD thermometer to use this year. It used to really bug me that I didn't really have a good way to get temps down through the water column, no matter what time of year. This thing appears to be the real deal and its very useful to find the thermocline for anyone who uses that to help locate fish.
I took a quick trip to a local lake this weekend to check temps and was happy to find low to mid-70's at surface and was uppper 60s about 10ft down. Unfortunately, the water was also chocolate milk, but thats another story. LOL If anyone is considering buying one of those things, they are not exactly cheap. However, the reviews I read were very good for this product and I'm pretty psyched to be able to have this temperature data to add to my "fishing Log". I figure any additional piece of this Musky puzzle is good for me.

Chautauqua Lake was 79 peak up north and 81 peak down south, but down 10ft it is 10 degrees colder.Up north the bait fish have not even setup like a carpet on the bottom yet. Most bait fish are in 28ft or less up north and scattered from 14ft to 17ft down south.

Well, I guess its that time of year. Some water temps around me are low to mid-80s all the way down to about 15'. That hot humid weather made things jump quite a bit. Might take a while to get things to cool down.
