Hi everyone,

Stopped in at Tiger Musky Resort yesterday morning and picked up Mike and Mark for a half day trip for wwalleyes. With chilly air temps and a mostly sunny sky we bounced along against a moderate North wind. We fished the deeper wood pattern with lead-free jigs tipped with minnows and leeches and found the walleyes prefering the minnows more.

We boated 4 walleyes keeping two and had a long distance release at the boat on a 5th walleye. The fishing was tough with the bites being extremely light and only caught a few crappie, perch, and bluegills. Even the bluegills took minnows. The water temps are still at 70 degrees which is cooler then normal but at least been stabill for a few days.

We saw thousands of bug casings floating by evidence of a big hatch the night before. Might explain why the tough bite. But walleyes are still catchable. Just have to work harder, smarter, and slower for them. Remember, please help protet the Big Chip and go lead-free. Good luck fishing everyone.
