Sorry about not posting lately August has been really busy. Muskie fishing in the Mercer area has been pretty good the last couple of weeks with some exceptionally good days and some really slow days mixed in, but overall things haven't been too bad. Weed edges, mid lake structure, and deep breaks that drop into twenty plus feet of water have been the best location for catching Muskies. Bucktails, bucktails, and more bucktails have been working the best by far. Double 10's as well as double 8's are working really well right now, very your retrieve speed until you figure out what the fish want. Be sure you're doing a good figure 8 at the end of every cast because the majority of the strikes have been coming at boatside. Topwater lures have seen some action but I would make sure you have at least 1 bucktail being thrown at all times. Temperatures are supposed to cool back off afer Saturday, so I would expect to see some fish start to move a little shallower when the water starts to cool back down. Good Luck!!
