Hi everyone,

Guided Laurie and Dale yesterday for a half day morning walleye trip. We headed out in fog, heavy clouds with mist and rain and a modest South wind that made the air temps very comfortable. The water temps have fallen to 70 degrees from 72 the day before.

At times the rain came down hard and pelted us but that was when the walleyes cooperated the best. Working my new inline PROaggressive jigs tipped with minnows in the mid depth wood we landed 5 walleyes keeping 2 and just a few crappies keeping 2. We had to work the thick wood to get the nuetral mood walleyes to bite. They were very skittish and hitting very light. My new inline jig has proven to work through the wood without snagging up hopelessly all the time. Most times we were able to yank them out intact. As the water temps fall I expect the walleye bite to improve. Remember to use lead-free jigs to catch those walleyes in the deep wood cover. Good luck fishing everyone.
