Salmon in the Whitefish River in October.

My mom has a place on the Whitefish River along Garth Point. I was wondering if the Salmon run up the Whitefish River in October. I plan on going up there around the second weekend in October. Is that too late to fish for them there?

Any salmon in the Whitefish will be well upstream by then. Probably would be pretty tough fishing for them in that part of the river, anyway.
