Hi everyone,

Fished the afternoon in what looked to be mid summer weather and water temps. Air temps in the high 70's with bright cloudless skies, a strong south wind, evidence of yet another bug hatch, and water temps at 69 degrees. Where are the water skiers? They left to soon. Sadly, the fishing was better in the summer. Water temps have gone up and down like a yoyo when at this time of year they should be dropping rapidly. The food supply for the fish is still at a high level making it tough to convince MR. walleye to eat your jig and minnow. I was able to convince 2 walleyes to cooperate along with some nice crappie and even two big bluegills on the PROaggressive jigs tipped with minnows. Kept just the two bluegills and some crappie for a fresh fish dinner and released everything else.

The trees are about half done with a lot more still to turn so the colorama we are experiencing should continue for a while yet. Be sure to come 'up north' to soak in all the scenery. It's good for the soul! The weather forecast still calls for more unseasonably warm temps with abundant sunshine. See you 'up here' soon. Good luck fishing everyone.
