I had Tom out yesterday and we put in a full day of crappie fishing on the Chip. While it wasn't gangbusters for us we ended up with as many as we wanted to keep. We had 18 in the bucket at the end of the day that were all great eating sized ones in the 9-11 inch range. We had one big crappie that we threw back that was probably in the 13 inch range. The crappie were not very aggressive yesterday. We tried a lot of different tactics from jigging Rapalas to plastics to just a plain old jig and waxworm. Waxworms seemed to be the best for us. We didn't find big groups of fish where we were but there were groups of 2 to 4 fish moving through every few minutes. Overall you couldn't beat the weather. Pretty darn nice.
