Claus Kraetke Memorial Ice Fishing Jamboree Feb. 22, 2014

The Turtle-Flambeau Flowage Association is proud to again host the Claus Kraetke Memorial Ice Fishing Jamboree in the heated tent on the ice outside of Donners Bay Resort on Saturday, February 22, 2014 from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm.

Purchase of a $5 book of tickets will get anglers in the cash prizes for the top three northern, walleye, bass, crappie and perch, along with a drawing for a 20 Gauge Over/Under Shotgun, Vexilar/Genz Pack Fish Finder or a St. Croix Ice Fishing Package.

Other raffles along with music, food and beverages will be in the heated tent throughout the day.

Proceeds go to the Turtle-Flambeau Flowage Association for the promotion and enhancement of the Turtle-Flambeau Flowage, Wisconsin's Scenic Wilderness Waters Area.

Did the flowage dry up? Is no one fishing? This site has been extremely quiet for the past couple of weeks.

Need to see some fishing news. Winter is driving me nuts.

Don, it's been real quiet.... There hasn't been anybody out fishing since the last fisheree. There is so much snow snowmobiles are getting stuck. Last weekend there was a few that walked off by Lakeview. I haven't been out for weeks either. No trucks out this year. If you do go, you'll have to deal with the deep snow and slush.

Guide Jeff Robl took out two guys who were staying in one of our cabins this weekend. They were fishing off of Fishermans Landing in 6-8 fow with tip-ups and golden shiners. They did fairly well on walleyes. They were also using jigging spoons in about 15 fow and got a few crappies, along with a nice smallmouth bass.

The TFFA will be holding its ice fisheree this weekend at Donners Bay Resort. The event has now been moved into the bar area for the food and raffles, so regardless of the weather, stop in to get in on the raffles and have a brat or hot dog while supporting the TFF.

Also, each angler registering a fish gets in on a special free raffle, so bring those fish in to Donners Bay from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.

You can still participate in the raffels. Just send some cash to the participating business and they will be glad to fill out the information and enter the raffles . You do not need to be their to win. Support the TFF association, they do a great job of monitoring the flowage to benefit all of us.
