Opening day is this Saturday 12:00 A.M. May 4, 2014. With most local lake's water temperatures holding between 42-44 degrees things are setting up for a good low-light walleye bite spawning walleyes are in transition at this time some are still holding near their spawning grounds while most are in transition to their summer patterns. a few of my favorite walleye waters are Lakes Mendota, Monona, Waubesa, Kegonsa, Koshkonong, Delavan, Geneva. The bass, bluegills and crappie will be holding in 3-5 feet of water. Only one thing to remember when searching for these species that always holds true "Big Fish Eat Little Fish!"
