Back out on Saturday with two long time clients/friends and found the walleye action to be on and off, all depending on areas and depths/structures. Our first stop was in a little wind blown cove, 15 foot deep over mud bottom with scattered submerged wood, here we found action and had one good keeper along with a throwback and a few hits and misses. We then moved and tried several shallow wind blown areas that have been real producers lately and came up with a blank except for some smallies and small pike. We then focused on deeper water the rest of the day and had good to very good action. Our Reeves jigs tipped with large fatheads done the trick again as we found a fair amount of eyes along with one big perch in 13 to 15 feet of water over mud bottom, our most productive spot was also deep water, 17 foot over hard bottom with good current/river channel, here, we had action on most every cast, or so it seemed, we sat here for some time and had a real ball catching and releasing until we had the numbers and quality of eyes that we needed to fill up and we called it a day. Thanks guys, it was a blast.
Back out today, will keep you posted.
