Coming up in two weeks and planning to camp four or five nights...are bears enough of a concern to be hanging food, or do most folks just keep food in coolers/totes? Searched the forum and found one problem bear 4 years ago, not much since.....thanks!

I am guessing that if you're in bear country, its best to be preventing rather than giving them any opportunity. Just because there haven't been any incidents in the past four years, doesn't mean that by not taking the proper precautions, you can't be the next incident... Just sayin'...

I agree with Mark Benson. Err on the side of caution. Keeping this in mind, the camp sites on the smaller islands should, but no guarentee, be less likely to bear intrusions.
