Back out yesterday with a father & son team, John and James and we had a very successful day on the water. Started out slow as the first two spots, one in 10 feet over rocks and the second on a wind blown rocky shoreline and we came up empty. That was the only two spots we fished all day that we were blanked. On our next move, our Reeves weedless jigs tipped with either 1/2 crawler or fatheads started producing walleye. Eight feet of water over scattered submerged stumps produced a couple of nice eyes along with a few throwbacks. Next we worked a sharp breaking point that went from huge shoreline boulders to 10 foot deep over soft bottom and found many active eyes here. Being that we had a full day scheduled, we only kept a couple of the larger ones so we could keep on fishing. After that, we worked all shallow water with mostly crawlers and we had a real blast as we ran into many more nice eyes along with jumbo perch, crappies, rock bass and pike. For the most part, our afternoon hours was spent in 5 feet of water and less and found most all our fish tucked in the shallow weeds. At days end we had a very nice stringer of eyes and panfish for our days efforts.
Back out today for a half day trip, will keep you posted.
