Sunday greeted my 3 guests, Jim, Matt, Nick and me with early morning thunder, rain, and very strong winds. With raging winds out of the SE, I decided to hit the south end to help get out of the larger waves and it paid off for us. Using Reeves weedless jigs tipped with fatheads, we spent the day bouncing back and forth, not to mention up and down working various bays, points and shorelines. The fish weren't jumping in the boat, but we managed to boat several pike, 5 nice jumbo perch, and our limits of some nice size walleye. Most all the fish we caught came out of 6 to 8 feet of water over newly emerging coontail while a few came out of the wood. Our last walleye we caught was at 3:45 and within minutes my deep cycle batteries were drained, now that's timing.
